As the calendar flips, it ushers in the promise of a new LPGA Tour season. With it, comes a new opportunity for the best players in the world to take a moment to reflect on the year they’ve left behind and look ahead to the possibilities in the months to come.
Here’s a look at what some of the members of the LPGA Tour had to say about their resolutions for the year ahead.
Georgia Hall
“Just to be a bit more consistent in majors I would say. Just keep on enjoying it and improve.”
Danielle Kang
“I am where I am right now, and I kind of wanted to get to a certain place. Whether it’s the result of how I want to be, feel, where I want my physicality to be, swing speed needs to be, it takes time. It’s going to take months to get there.”
Nelly Korda
“Every part of the game can get better, always. The game of golf is constantly moving forward and you kind of have to move with it. So there are girls that are coming in and playing well. You’ll have weeks that are off. But I think you are constantly having to improve every part of your game. You constantly have to practice. That’s just how it is.”
Bronte Law
“For a period of time last year and the year before, I didn’t enjoy golf. Now, I’m actually enjoying it again, and I want to be out there. For me, I just want to maintain that throughout the year. Not put too much pressure on myself, because ultimately, I feel like anyone out there can agree, when there is no pressure on you, things are a lot easier. I am my biggest critic, so when I’m nice to myself, then things are going to run a lot smoother. I don’t really care what other people say. But I’m harsh on myself, so my goal this year was basically to be a bit kinder to myself, recognize the good and not so much think about the bad stuff.”
Su Oh
“Hopefully, just stay healthy and have the best year out here. Nothing dramatically different to all the other years. I had a good finish to the end of the season, so hopefully just get off to a good start and have a great year.”
Inbee Park
“Because I haven’t won a major for a while, I really want to have the major back in my resume. Just a win would be nice, but definitely a major tournament I think is definitely what I’m watching.”
Annika Sörenstam
“Life is good. I try to make the most out of every day. Being a good mom is probably my number one; number two is being a good wife; and then golf and everything else is tied for third. Hopefully, every day becomes better than the previous one.”
Patty Tavatanakit
“Just try to play the best golf I can.”
Lexi Thompson
“Honestly, I feel like every day I always have a goal, so coming into the new year there wasn’t one in particular. Obviously, I want to play well and keep on improving, but just be more positive, enjoy myself more, and just realize life is a blessing.”
