The LPGA Foundation continues elevating its fundraising efforts, recently securing nearly $220K through its Member For A Day auction in October.

This fundraising total is the second highest in Member For A Day history, which says a lot given that Member For A Day has been fully focused on auctioning off once-in-a-lifetime golf experiences on behalf of nonprofits and charitable foundations since 2020.

“These numbers were just crazy,” said Eric Sedransk, Founder and CEO of Member For A Day. “I think after everything is all said and done, this could be the largest auction in our history.”

The LPGA Foundation’s auction sold over thirty-five golf packages in less than one week, with experiences like golf at Baltusrol Golf Club with LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan and a round of golf at East Lake Golf Club with NFL Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis selling for $10,000 each in less than minutes. Other packages that generated high interest and dollars included the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club Stay & Play package along with rounds of golf at Sleepy Hollow Country Club and Winged Foot Golf Club.

The money raised through this auction is vital to the LPGA Foundation’s mission of supporting girls and women through programs and initiatives aimed at empowering them through the game of golf. The LPGA Foundation has impacted the lives of more than one million girls alone through its flagship junior golf program, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf.

Funds raised for this program will continue to support the next generation of girls through scholarships, grants, and opportunities including LPGA Leadership Academies and clinics held at various LPGA tournaments each season. The money will also go a long way in supporting the One Million MORE Girls campaign, which seeks to introduce a million girls to golf by 2030. Since being launched in 2023, the campaign has made waves in the golf world with the addition of 120 sites across the United States, Mexico and Asia.

“We teach golf to young girls in the way they want to learn it, and in an environment where it’s just them so we can reinforce confidence and communication skills,” explained LPGA Foundation Board Member Jacqueline Nickelberry. “As we look at growing the game, we need to start thinking about how we can help communities, because being at play and having leisure hobbies like golf are important for everybody. It’s great for mental health, physical fitness, and doing well in school and at work. Golf is such a beautiful game that is better when shared with others, and I want to be the one to share it with young women.”

The LPGA Foundation also supports various community groups throughout the country, as well as female golfers of all ages via its LPGA Amateur Golf Association. As part of LPGA Amateurs, the LPGA Foundation presents an annual Community Impact Award to the chapter that has the most positive influence on the LPGA community. These chapters demonstrate their engagement by fundraising, housing female golfers, and hosting events that celebrate, empower, and promote girls and women.

For those who love golf, there is no greater gift than introducing someone to the game. The money raised by the LPGA Foundation will do exactly that, and it certainly would not be possible without the support of generous donors like the ones who made this year’s Member For A Day auction so impactful. Every dollar raised will make an impact, and it will be felt throughout the golf industry as more girls pick up clubs for years to come.
