The LPGA Professionals Rolex Awards took place via Facebook Live on January 28, 2021. Usually hosted at the PGA Show in Orlando, Fla., the Awards were pushed to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing LPGA Professionals members along with their students, families and friends to all come together and celebrate the 2020 National Award winners.
Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award – Dana Rader
The Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award was created in 2007 and is given to an LPGA Professional who emulates qualities valued by Lopez: Leadership, Passion, Giving, and Approachability. Lopez is a 48-time LPGA Tour winner and four-time Rolex Player of the Year. She was inducted into the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame in 1987 and captained the victorious 2005 U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
Sandy LaBauve Spirit Award – Charlaine Hirst
Named after the founder of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, the Sandy LaBauve Spirit Award honors an individual who has gone above and beyond to inspire the lives of juniors through their passion and dedication to empowering girls through golf. LaBauve was an LPGA Teaching Professional in Phoenix, Ariz. and mother of two daughters when she founded Girls Golf in 1989.
Professional of the Year – Kimberly Coleman
The LPGA Professional of the Year was established in 1980 and is awarded annually to an LPGA Professionals member primarily engaged in a golf operation, golf association or industry position, promoting the game through player development, growth of the game initiatives and other golf-related activities.
President’s Award – Donna White
The President’s award is to be awarded by the National President to a member or a non-member who has provided exceptional service, contributions and or leadership to the LPGA Professionals.
This person can be chosen for:
- Made significant contributions to the LPGA or LPGA Professionals
- Provided long-term service or leadership to the organization
- Served as a member of the Executive Committee or National Committees of the LPGA Professionals
This award gives the National President the opportunity to thank and honor exceptional action or service in supporting long-term values and goals of the association.
Ellen Griffin Rolex Award – Renee Powell
The Ellen Griffin Rolex Award, instituted by The LPGA Professionals Membership in 1989 to honor the late teaching professional Ellen Griffin, recognizes an individual, male or female, who made a major contribution to the teaching of golf and who emulates Griffin’s spirit, love and dedication to students, teachers, teaching skills and the game of golf.
