The LPGA has always been committed to transforming the lives of women and girls through the game of golf.  Since 2007, the LPGA Amateurs – Women on Par Scholarship has helped over 30 women pursue higher education for the first time, to help women get “on par” with their peers through the opportunities a college degree provides. Winners are selected based on need, personal and professional goals, and their personal stories. Over the years, this scholarship does more than provide financial assistance to female students over the age of 30, it gives the invaluable gift of confidence to resilient women who still have a strong desire to drive for a better future. Past recipients claim the scholarship has boosted their morale, helped them to feel seen, and inspired them to give back.

“Never underestimate the impact on the world when you facilitate education and leadership for women,” states past scholarship recipient. “This scholarship helped me to change the world for several thousand other women. I am so thankful to the LPGA.”

Multiple recipients have reported the impacts they already made such as starting non-profits, helping others in their profession/industry, and improving communities – we’re seeing the ripple effect.

“I am a person in long term recovery from substance use (15 years) and my experiences have been amazing since college. Today I stand next to law enforcement, council members and senators to make a difference in my community,” shared one scholarship recipient. “I am the Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit that offers safe sober homes for individuals seeking to regain their lives. I am once again a productive member of society, a mother, daughter and friend. Thank you for helping me to live a life that has purpose!”

“It’s an honor to provide the framework for a program in which the funds are making such a difference in women’s lives. The donated funds given to Women on Par allows us to continue to give what is priceless: confidence, inspiration, purpose, and of course, education. We have found through our follow-up with past recipients, this scholarship is impacting communities all over the world due to the generosity of others,” shared Kristin Bailey, Senior Manager of Chapter Development.

This year’s Women on Par Scholarship is now accepting applications and will remain open until 200 completed applications are received or by April 2, 2024. Scholarships will be awarded to three deserving recipients.

This scholarship could not be possible without our members who donate and play in the Virtual Scramble. The LPGA Amateurs Golf Association Virtual Scramble is an opportunity for you to compete with fellow LPGA Amateurs members internationally in a 4-person scramble, virtually from a course near you! LPGA Amateurs is bringing a new element to the Virtual Scramble this year for those who don’t want to compete or carry a handicap but want to help support this great cause! Players may choose to participate in the Competitive Division (Handicap required) or in the For Fun Division (no Handicap required). Prizes will be awarded in both divisions!

Thanks to the players who have supported the Virtual Scramble, since 2020 the event has raised over $92,000 for this greater cause. We hope you consider playing in the Virtual Scramble which will occur July 19-August 18, 2024 as funds potentially impact lives in your community.
